Bristol Energy Cooperative

Bristol Energy Cooperative is a community-owned energy cooperative, growing Bristol’s local green energy supply and making the benefits of green energy open to all.

In 2012 the co-op ran its first community share offer. The target was to raise £88,000 for the purchase/installation of solar PV on two community buildings. The share offer was over-subscribed, and over £128,000 was raised from 150+ investors. As a result the co-op now owns PV installations on Hamilton House, Knowle West Media Centre and Easton Community Centre.

The co-op currently has working groups on energy-efficiency, solar PV, wind, and the Renewable Heat Incentive. A second share offer is being planned for 2013. More info at:
